If you are planning to bake delicious gingerbread cookies for the holidays , we have the perfect recipe for you!

There are two ways to bake Christmas gingerbread . The dough, the recipe for which is below, is perfect for cutting out your favorite patterns. It consists of the most delicious, warming spices, including large amounts of ginger and cinnamon. The bonus is that they will definitely make your house smell amazing! Your household will surely feel the magic of Christmas! So let's get started!

Recipe for Christmas gingerbread, step by step

To start making the dough you will need:

  • Flour (3 and 1/4 cups)
  • Spices such as ground cinnamon (1 tablespoon),
  • ginger (1 tablespoon),
  • cloves (3/4 teaspoon) and nutmeg (1/2 teaspoon),
  • Baking soda (3/4 teaspoon),
  • salt (1/2 teaspoon),
  • brown sugar (1/2 cup),
  • one egg and vanilla extract 1 and 1/2 teaspoon),
  • Butter (300g),
  • To decorate you will need icing, powdered sugar and candies for sprinkling

That's not all, you also have to knead or cut the dough. For this you will need:

  • Roller for stretching the dough
  • Baking paper
  • Mixer (you can knead the dough by hand)
  • Cookie cutter
  • Bowls
  • Aprons - they will come in handy so as not to get your favorite clothes dirty. In our store you will find many interesting, colorful designs!

If we have everything prepared, we can start kneading the dough!

1. Pour flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, cloves, salt, sugar and nutmeg into a bowl.
2. Mix the contents of the bowl
3.Then add butter (at room temperature) and eggs and mix everything together
4. Then, when the dough is thoroughly kneaded, divide it into two balls, flatten them, wrap them in foil and put them in the fridge for about an hour

5. Then take out the dough, unfold one part and place it on a floured surface. Roll the dough until it is about 0.5 cm thin.
6.Choose the molds and stamp your favorite shapes in the dough
7. Transfer them to a baking tray lined with baking paper
8. Place the Christmas gingerbreads in the oven and bake at a temperature of about 180 degrees Celsius for 8-10 minutes.
9.Take them out, let them cool down and start decorating!

There are many methods of decorating Christmas gingerbread . You can outline the gingerbread shape with icing so that only the edges are visible, such gingerbreads look very elegant.
